This fresh and fruity Sangria mocktail is the perfect non-alcoholic drink that is worthy of breakfast or brunch and kid approved.

A pitcher of Sangria Mocktail

A fun drink makes any party or dinner more exciting, especially for kids. Sangria is a drink from Spain and Portugal traditionally made with wine but that’s obviously not very kid friendly even if it may look like it to children.

This version is safe for everyone to enjoy and is a nice addition to a brunch gathering. It’s also super simple to whip up in a flash so it’s easy to make several batches for large crowds.

Sliced fruit in a pitcher

Ingredients you need

  • apple
  • orange
  • lime
  • lemon
  • grape juice
  • apple juice
  • orange juice
  • sparkling water

You can substitute cran-apple juice for the plain apple juice.

Don’t cut the apples until you are ready to use them otherwise they will brown when be exposed to the air. The citrus fruits can be sliced ahead of time and stored in a container in the fridge until ready to use.

A cup with floating citrus slices

How to make this

  1. Thinly slice the apple, orange, lemon and lime and place in your pitcher.
  2. Add grape juice, apple juice, orange juice, and mix well. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. When ready to serve add chilled sparkling water.

A sharp knife will help you get nice even slices. I like this knife sharpener because it is a simple handheld model that doesn’t make a lot of noise and is easy to store.

Alternatively you can use a mandolin or the slicer attachment on a food processor.

Tips and Tricks

Serve the Sangria with additional fruit slices and ice in each glass.

Can I make this ahead?

If you want to make this ahead I would mix the juices and store in the pitcher in the fridge over night.

Wait to add the fruits until the morning of the day you want to drink it. If the citrus fruits sit too long in the juice it might start to go bitter.

Can I reuse the fruits?

When you’ve finished off the pitcher of Sangria refill the pitcher with plain water, or sparkling water, for a wonderful infused water.
